It meets every Tuesday during term time, from 2-3 pm in the Fun Club room of Henry Prince School, Mayfield, near Ashbourne. It starts with games and activities and ends with stories and the opportunity to borrow books from the school library. The Wendy Club is named after Wendy Greatrex, who died in 2006. She had two children aged four and two: Oliver and Lucy. They now now attend Henry Prince School where the club is held. Best of all, they clean up the mess. http://www.under-fives.org/activity.html ___________________________________________________________ Freecycle: Get rid of the After-Christmas Clutter ------------------------------------------------- The Freecycle Network is a free version of an auction website like eBay. Find your house is too full after Christmas? Give stuff away. Just upload details of your unwanted items and local people who want them will get in touch for further details before collecting them. Need a children's car seat or a high chair? Put out a "wanted" sign on the website and the chances are that someone in your area has one going spare. You first need to go to the Freecycle website and find your local group. For example, look in the East Midlands and West Midlands areas: http://www.freecycle.org/group/UK/East%20Midlands http://www.freecycle.org/group/UK/West%20Midlands You then need to join the group nearest to where you live. You'll be sent instructions on how to post messages. Use the subject "Offer" when you have something to give away and "Wanted" when you need something. Freecycle uses Yahoo Groups to manage the message sending. The aim of the Freecycle network is to reduce waste and save resources. This week, one group's offers included books, computer keyboards, toasters, folding beds, a wheelbarrow, a television, a Monopoly game, girls clothes aged 3-5 and a dolls house. Whatever you have that you don't want, or want that you don't have, the Freecycle Network can help.
