You need neither technical knowledge nor a web site to set this up. Your supporters just shop from retailers like Marks and Spencers or Amazon as they usually would: it costs them the same but your good cause earns a commission! You need no technical know-how, and it is very quick to set up. The only effort involved is telling lots of people about it. Many people use the Internet to shop. In a small survey of mother's in the Ashbourne area, 100% had an internet connection and 88% shopped on-line. I recently set up a web shop to raise funds for my daughter's school. Every time someone goes to the web shopping page, clicks through to a retailer's web site and buys something, the school makes a small commission (typically about 5%). It costs exactly the same as going directly to the retailer's web site, and is sometimes even cheaper. You don't even need to have a web site. They have over 100 retailers, including HMV, Adams Kids and the Early Learning Centre. On the one hand, it contains omega-3 fatty acids, which can boost birth weight and cognitive abilities. On the other, fish can also contain mercury, which causes severe neurological damage to the foetus.
